ABOUT US
I’m Debra Levy, a board-certified permanent makeup artist through the American Academy of Micropigmentation (AAM Gold Program), a Professional Tattooist Member of the Alliance of Professional Tattooists (APT), and a permanent jewelry specialist based in New Jersey.
At 28, I faced a breast cancer scare that led to a lumpectomy, leaving me with a scar that forever changed the way I viewed healing, identity, and confidence. That experience became the driving force behind my mission: helping others reclaim their sense of wholeness and feel comfortable in their own skin again.
Today, I hold 14 certifications from top trainers worldwide, including specialized training in trauma-informed care, ensuring every service I provide is rooted in safety, empathy, and precision. Whether someone has undergone a mastectomy, weight-loss surgery, gender transition, or carries scars that affect how they see themselves, my goal is always the same: to create results that help them feel seen, supported, and empowered.
Alongside paramedical tattooing, I also provide permanent jewelry, a meaningful way for clients to commemorate relationships, milestones, and personal journeys.
And because healing is bigger than one person or one studio, I donate 10% of all proceeds from Inked & Linked to breast cancer research, a cause that will always remain close to my heart.
Above all, Inked & Linked is designed to be a safe, welcoming environment where every person and every story matters. Your comfort, dignity, and empowerment guide everything I do.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does "paramedical tattooing" mean?
Paramedical tattooing is an advanced form of permanent make up which focuses on skin restoration, post medical treatment, or the camouflaging of skin imperfections or scarring.
Pigment is injected into the skin by small needles that puncture the skin at a high frequency. For areola tattooing specifically, the skin heals, creating a natural nipple and areola complex tattoo. Prior to the procedure, each client will have an in-depth consultation where we’ll discuss the best color, size and shape, and placement of the tattoo.
How long does a typical procedure last?
Depending on the area that is being treated, with the proper care the results can last up to five years without a touchup.
The procedure takes anywhere from one to three hours to complete, depending on the work being done. This includes discussing any concerns and expectations you might have. There is paperwork that will need to be filled out in advance such as general health, history form, and a consent for treatment and photos. Before and after photos will be taken after care, instructions will be reviewed.
Do you require follow-up appointments?
Yes, after approximately 8-10 weeks. Usually only one is required. The appointment is to assess healing and give a touch-up if needed.
Is paramedical tattooing painful?
Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but usually the pain is very minimal if any at all is felt. It also depends on the area where the treatment takes place. If needed, you can elect to use a topical anesthetic during your appointment to minimize any potential discomfort.
What documents do you need ahead of an appointment/at the appointment?
A completed and signed intake and consent form. For cancer, burn, and any recent surgery patients, please also have your doctor send me a release form stating that your skin is completely healed and that they authorize your candidacy for micropigmentation treatment. I may also request this on a case by case basis during your consultation.
How long after a mastectomy should I wait before getting areola tattoos?
18 months. If you try any sooner, the skin and tissue in the area will not be fully healed yet and are at risk of moving slightly, which means your results may change significantly after the procedure.
How do I need to prepare for my appointment?
Shower the day of and wear loose fitting attire.
Are guests allowed at appointments?
Guests are allowed, but only upon request. If you have special needs and require specific accommodations, please let me know ahead of time. I want all of my clients to feel comfortable and supported throughout the entire process.
What makes me a successful candidate for paramedical tattooing?
Women and men who have had breast reconstruction surgery after breast cancer, or for any other reason, may be able to have areola tattooing as their final step in their reconstruction process.
How realistic do paramedical tattoos look?
They can look incredibly realistic! Check out the photos in my Gallery page to get an idea of how a paramedical tattoo might look on you.
What is the process at an appointment?
First we’ll go over your intake forms and health history. Then you’ll get undressed and we’ll take photos of the area being tattooed (You’ll have a robe). From there, I’ll map your body to determine where to place the nipple(s), and then we’ll discuss and match colors. Once a color is agreed upon, I will begin the paramedical tattooing process, which can take anywhere from 1-3 hours, depending on the specific work being done. After the tattooing is finished, I’ll clean the area, take photos, and place a waterproof bandage over all affected areas – please keep them on for 6 days following your appointment. Lastly, I’ll go over the necessary aftercare process with you and then see you at your follow-up appointment.
What does aftercare look like?
Aftercare differs for every patient and will be determined during your consultation.
